Taylor Swift sheds her coat as she rings in the new year in the Big Apple’s Times Square on Wednesday evening.
The 19-year-old Fearless female performed a medley of her songs including “Picture To Burn”, “Love Story”, “Forever and Always” and “Change.” Taylor even shed her warm Tahari winter jacket in one degree weather for a glittering dress by Stephen Burrows.
Taylor completed her New Year’s Eve outfit off with Nordstrom gloves and Swarovski earrings. Check out Taylor’s performance below (hint: crank up the volume!)!

Taylor Swift is still having a difficult time getting over Joe Jonas, and that could spell future problems for the Disney music star.
After all, Taylor’s soothed the sorrow of a broken heart in the past by writing songs about her exes. Sometimes they’ve ended up as hits, and she’s been known to insert the guys’ names into the lyrics or find ways to point the finger at them in the liner notes on her albums. It appears that Taylor is once again getting over a guy by putting it all down on paper, which could mean there’s a hit somewhere in Joe’s now-famous 27-second phone call.
“I feel it’s best for me right now to be alone and write about what I’ve gone through,” Taylor told People magazine. “That’s how I deal with it. I would hate to jump into something so quickly and have it not be the right thing, because I don’t think I could take that right now.”
In fact, she admitted, she’s been on a roller coaster as she moves on.
“I have good days, and I have bad days,” she said. “I’m trying to limit those days where I wake up and all I think about is that.”
Taylor’s got some good things to think about this week. Her current single, “White Horse,” was the most-added song at country radio last week, based on early returns, and she’ll be a co-host Wednesday on the CBS special “The Grammy Nominations Concert Live: Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night.”

Taylor Swift runs through her secret performance onstage during the 2008 American Music Awards rehearsals held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Friday in Los Angeles.
The 18-year-old country cutie recently told CMT that she reads JustJared.com to “see what’s going on with celebrities. I like to have things to talk about. It’s not like you can just make movies and sing songs and people aren’t going to want to know who you’re dating and where you’re eating. I’m curious about that too. I’ll admit that.”
She also mentions that she doesn’t pay attention to the haters: “I just try to ignore the ‘I hate her, she’s ugly’ ones. When people can be anonymous, they’re vicious and it’s like sixth grade stuff like on crack. It’s terrible.”

Taylor Swift’s enormous success throws a giant shadow over all of popular music, but especially so over country music. A self-made teenage artist suddenly dwarfing all acts? She has done it.
But she is not, as many experts are predicting, leading a massive shift in country music to very young audiences. She is her own massive shift.
People forget that Swift created her audience where none existed before: She invented the audience of teenage female country music fans. Why have they flocked to her in such numbers? Because she is one of them. She knows what they’re thinking, what they like and dislike, what they’re passionate about. She writes their songs for them. No adult songwriters working in the tune factories in Nashville could have written such music credibly, nor could the major country labels have found a way to deliver it credibly to teenage audiences. Of course, it never occurred to anyone in the adult music world that such a thing was possible. An indie label, Big Machine, did help her deliver her music in the CD and digital worlds after she had already amassed a huge online audience.
