Taylor Swift’s enormous success throws a giant shadow over all of popular music, but especially so over country music. A self-made teenage artist suddenly dwarfing all acts? She has done it.
But she is not, as many experts are predicting, leading a massive shift in country music to very young audiences. She is her own massive shift.
People forget that Swift created her audience where none existed before: She invented the audience of teenage female country music fans. Why have they flocked to her in such numbers? Because she is one of them. She knows what they’re thinking, what they like and dislike, what they’re passionate about. She writes their songs for them. No adult songwriters working in the tune factories in Nashville could have written such music credibly, nor could the major country labels have found a way to deliver it credibly to teenage audiences. Of course, it never occurred to anyone in the adult music world that such a thing was possible. An indie label, Big Machine, did help her deliver her music in the CD and digital worlds after she had already amassed a huge online audience.

November 12, 2008. The CMAs were held in Tenessee. And Taylor sang her single “Love Story”, and she was nominated for Female Vocalist of the year. She also gave an award that, it was New Artist. Anyway, “Fearless” is on sale and i’ve heard some good things about it! 
well, just a little update. You can catch a re-run of the CMA’s on CMT and other channels. If anyone has Taylor’s CD, feel free to report what you thought about it here. We’d love to know!
We’ll try to keep updated, and Katie B. and I are probably gonna get together some time and write up a post, but if not, we both will keep updated.

The band was Taylor Swift’s first choice when the opportunity arose to collaborate for an episode of CMT Crossroads. The 18-year-old singer-songwriter says she grew up listening to the band because her mother has always been a huge fan. Plus, she says, “The harmonies that they do on their songs are perfect for my range. When we initially started talking about it, I told [Elliott] my favorite lines from my favorite songs. And he said, ‘You can sing all of them. Whatever you want to sing, you can sing it.’ I was like a kid in a candy store! I was like, ‘You mean I can sing the first line of ‘Photograph’? What?!”

Taylor Swift is the latest star to don the Milk Mustache in a Got Milk? ad for the Body By Milk ad campaign. Here’s what the 18-year-old country superstar had to say:

It is said that Joe Jonas Broke up with Taylor over the phone without even making the relation ship official!!! Now, don’t get me wrong, i think the Jonas Brothers are great, but for him to break up with her before the relationship was official, and with a CELL PHONE? that’s just rude. But i’m not Joe or taylor, so i don’t know why.

A friend of Taylor’s confirmed that the couple, Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift we going out for a few months but broke it off in the beginning of October.
“He broke her heart,” added the friend.
Taylor, 18, and Joe Jonas, 19, never confirmed their relationship but were photographed together many times. Taylor’s father said something at the MTV Video Awards that solidified the couple, “Joe is a great guy and any girl would be lucky to go out with him.”
